Over the past 104 years, God has done amazing things in the lives of the people in the Waymart community. The heritage of teaching the gospel and loving people continues today as it did in the past.

We have seen God do some incredible things in Waymart and in our surrounding communities. Our church family has grown from around 16-20 people in regular attendance in 2012 to over 350 people in attendance each Sunday. Many new people join us each week. Our vibrant children and youth ministry is an example of the impact God is allowing us to have in younger families. Through our various Life Groups and other targeted ministries, we see God reaching people seven days a week.

One of the most encouraging aspects of our church is the beautiful spirit of unity and love that is felt by all who come through the doors. We regularly hear phrases like, "Everyone here is so friendly." or "This place is real." Together we rejoice in the saving work God is doing in our communities through people who have experienced the love of Jesus in life-changing ways.

In 2019, The Waymart Church moved from a 5,000 square foot building to a renovated 22,000 square foot facility. The move allowed us to reach more people in ways we could have never imagined and the opportunities for ministry continue to explode around us. Our church has become a beacon of God's love and hope in Waymart, the surrounding region, and around the world through online services. So much so that we are bursting at the seams and believe we are being led by God to plant another church in a neighboring community.

Recently, we were informed that the former Downs, Off-Track Betting (OTB) facility in Carbondale, PA was going to be sold. After much prayer and research, we believe this facility and location will be a perfect home for The Carbondale Church. We have been moving forward in the process of purchasing the building so that once the closing is complete, we can begin the extensive renovation work needed to get the building ready for use.

We are confident that God is allowing us to reach another community like us, through us! We are especially excited about how this new building can be used for outreach to the people of Carbondale and the adjacent communities.

The purchase price of the building is $700k, with a projected renovation cost of $400k, bringing the total financial need to $1.1 million. This may seem like a large number, but God is infinitely bigger! We have seen God do amazing things in the past and we are stepping out in faith believing He will do amazing things for His glory in the future. We want The Carbondale Church to be a place where God's love and hope can be lived out in Carbondale and believe that these are the first steps in making that happen.

Our hope is to have the renovation completed by mid-December so we can host Christmas Eve services in the new facility on December 24th, 2025. We are praying for God to provide the funds necessary to purchase the building and complete the needed renovations. We believe that God will meet the financial need and will provide the many volunteers to help do the work of preparing the building for use.

In 2019, we used the phrase, "ONE MORE ME" to help communicate what we understood to be God's next step for The Waymart Church. The words, "God, reach one more person like me, through me!" was in our hearts and minds during that awesome time. God met that prayer many times over and changed numerous lives.

Now we are adopting the phrase, "ONE MORE US" to communicate what we believe is God's next step for our church family. "God, reach one more community like us, through us!" We take our responsibility to share the Gospel with others seriously. So much so, that we are willing to step out in big faith to see God do big things!

We are grateful to God for what He has done and is still doing in Waymart, and we are excited to be part of His mission to reach Carbondale, PA with the Gospel.
